Plastic Visual ASD Countdown Keyring
£7.99 Excluding VAT
A simple keyring to teach about and encourage appropriate behaviour, having both a countdown from 5 through to 1 and then finished, and also three coloured traffic light symbols. Its portable nature means that it is ideal to take out and about to help avoid and solve problems whilst on the move.
This is a useful, pocket sized keyring in plastic which contains two sets of behaviour-related symbols.
The first is a countdown from 5 through to 1, followed by a 'finished' symbol. This is a great tool for use in managing expectations in terms of when activities should finish, or counting down to when a specified behaviour should finish.
The second is a very simple visual behaviour feedback system, based on the traffic light principle. It can help individuals to understand when their behaviour is starting to become inappropriate.
These tools are especially important when trying to manage an individual's behaviour, and to help them modify their own behaviour to what is socially acceptable.
There is an additional blank plastic card at the back which you can draw and write on to further personalise your Keyring (any permanent marker pen will write on the plastic). You can also use it to store behaviour tokens (not included).
Symbols are 7cm square (with rounded corners) - large enough to easily see whilst on the move but small enough to still be convenient to use and carry about. The symbols are held together on a sturdy book ring, meaning they are easy to rearrange (and remove some if necessary), so it is easy to ensure the symbols you need are always on hand.
This product, like all our products, was inspired by some of the difficulties we have gone through in raising our own autistic son over the years, and includes a lot of strategies that have helped him to cope with some of the challenges life can bring.
